| Why JMP 8 | ||
Statistical discovery software that’s fast, powerful and totally interactive. So you can get to ‘aha’ quicker.
With JMP 8, you’ll make discoveries – and decisions – faster than ever before.
You’ll understand your customers’ preferences. You’ll make your products last. You’ll get meaningful visual analyses to answer your business questions. You’ll streamline your process to eliminate waste and reduce costs. You’ll explore vast amounts of data stored on your desktop, in databases or on a SAS server.
As always with JMP, your breakthroughs will happen visually, dynamically, interactively. And you’ll be able to easily communicate them with others.
Graph Builder
Create your graphs on the fly
Sometimes you don’t know what kind of graph your data demands or even what story it has to tell. With JMP 8, you don’t need to know.
Graph Builder lets you construct graphs
interactively and see many dimensions in one graph. You get instantaneous feedback as you drag and drop, without waiting. Forget about switching between windows to make comparisons and explore your data.
You get a visual comparison across grouping levels – all in one plot composed of small multiple elements such as scatterplots, bar charts, box plots and histograms.
If the graph you’ve created isn’t exactly what you want, it takes just a couple of clicks and drags of your mouse to make another one or modify what you’ve got.
With this increased interactivity, it’s easier to get the visualization you want, and you’ll be able to quickly experiment with alternatives.
JMP has an attitude toward data that allows close, personal and intimate interaction with the data. JMP brings dynamic visualization to the SAS user which is important because leveraging the powerful JMP environment with SAS code results in SAS applications that deliver rich graphics.
Some of the key features are -
- Generate reports from a SAS® server - Reports can be generated from a SAS server and then augmented using the many compelling visualization available in JMP.
- See point-and-click interfaces instead of complex procedures - JMP includes sample point and click interfaces to the power of SAS analytics.
- Everything you need is right there - This is a typical JMP window setup for a SAS programmer. Program editor, SAS log, SAS output, data browser and JMP graphics window are displayed.
Data should work for you – you shouldn’t have to work to understand it.
Help organizations around the world put data to work for them. JMP approaches the problem and helps you with the following benefits:
- Explore virtually unlimited amounts of data. Spreadsheets stop you at 65,000 rows and 256 columns.
- Query the data visually for whatever questions you can think to ask.
- Interact with the data, gaining instantaneous insight into relationships and patterns.
- See long-term trends instead of a limited year-to-date view.
- Create graphics with many distinct variables – and watch as trends become clear.
- Make smarter, quicker decisions based on your insights.
- Dynamic Visualization with Bubble Plots - The bubble plot, a motion-enabled graph, harnesses and displays up to six dimensions of data.
- JMP® Integration with SAS® Intelligence Platform - JMP users can tap into the full power of SAS. SAS users can gain immediate insights into their data through JMP’s interactive graphics.
Some of the Key features are:
Whether you are focusing on Payroll, purchasing or product development, the benefits of interactive analysis and advanced business visualization will become clear right before your eyes with JMP

With JMP 8, you can design studies that will ask respondents to make choices among sets of prospective product features. You’ll learn what features your customers want most and how much they are willing to pay for each additional feature.
Using Fit Life by X, you can now analyze the effect of an acceleration factor – such as temperature, pressure or humidity – on the lifetime of products and parts under a rich set of assumptions. You can also examine distributional properties of lifetime events with the Life Distribution platform. And you can discover failure causes in a system and understand the effects of repair with the new Competing Causes platform.
Your meetings and Web pages will get livelier with JMP 8. Now you can export interactive Bubble Plots and Profilers as Adobe Flash animations to insert into presentations, Web pages and other documents. Show your colleagues what you’ve discovered and let them interact with the visualizations – and see for themselves.
