For many organizations, the GSTR-9 annual return has become one of the most complex GST compliance exercises of the year. The return consolidates a full year of supply data, tax payments, and Input Tax Credit (ITC) claims, serving as the government’s final reconciliation checkpoint for GST compliance.
Recent regulatory updates have further expanded the scope of GSTR-9 reporting. The government introduced new disclosure requirements and enhanced ITC reporting structures, including additional reporting fields for cross-year ITC claims and reversals.
At the same time, authorities are increasing scrutiny of mismatches between GSTR-3B filings, GSTR-2B auto-population, and annual return disclosures. Tax experts have already flagged rising challenges in reconciliation and compliance preparation for FY 2024-25 due to these expanded reporting requirements.
For organizations with turnover exceeding ₹2 crore, filing GSTR-9 is mandatory, while larger entities must also submit the GSTR-9C reconciliation statement alongside it.
In this environment, preparing the annual return is no longer a year-end formality — it requires continuous reconciliation, documentation accuracy, and system-driven validation across the entire financial year.
This webinar presentation provides a practical walkthrough of GSTR-9 for FY 2024-25, helping organizations prepare for compliance with clarity and confidence.
Key topics covered include:
The resource is particularly useful for tax professionals, GST consultants, finance controllers, and compliance leaders responsible for managing annual GST reporting.
